2-year Postdoctoral position
in Low Dimensional Topology

There is currently a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in mathematics opened for application at the Alfred Renyi Institute of Mathematics, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Budapest) starting in September 2012 in the field of low dimensional topology and related areas. (preferably in contact geometry and topology, knot theory, 4-manifold theory, surface singularities and their smoothings).


The position is teaching free; in particular, the candidates are not required to speak Hungarian. The salary is 2400 Euro/month and the fellow will be provided with a travel grant of 2500 Euro for the time of their tenure.


The project is financed by the European Union (through the ERC Advanced Grant 'Low Dimensional Topology in Budapest') and is part of the 'Low Dimensional Topology' special year program at the Renyi Institute.
